Wrag Barn Golf Club’s new captains drove in at the weekend and raised a sensational £2,500 for charity in the process.
The event took place on Easter Sunday and attracted 124 golfers as all four 2018 captains fired their drives down the middle of the first fairway.
Captaining the club this year is Shaun Carney, who is Men’s and Club Captain, while Molly Barby skippers the Ladies, David Rees the Seniors and Guy Drayton the Juniors.
The traditional pairs competition took place after the Captains Drive-In with Tony Gallagher and Barry Dennington taking victory and earning a round of golf at Sunningdale in the process.
More importantly though the day raised £2,500 for the charity CLIC Sargent – the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families.
Wrag Barn Golf Club thanked Shaun Carney and his wife Debbie for organising the event and also for Swindon Town Football Club for sponsoring the prizes on the day.
