Wroughton chairman Kevin Cook hopes the club can pick up where they left off when the Wiltshire Senior League campaign resumes in September.
Following the null and voiding of last season’s competition due to the coronavirus outbreak, Wroughton were in pole position to retain their title having gone unbeaten in the league.
Wroughton were sitting four points off top spot with a huge seven games in hand from the leaders but the Covid-19 pandemic denied them the chance to finish what had been a hugely successful season.
Cook however accepts that the right decision was made in the circumstances and that he hopes the club will bounce back this season.
“We all said from a non-selfish point of view that we were happy to cancel the season.
“It’s difficult times but hopefully we can build on what we did last season.
“We are always determined to win the league.”
