Horsell’s left-footed strike clipped the underside of the Fairford crossbar but the officials ruled it didn’t cross the line.

Two goals from Josh Parsons and one from Tom Ballard, both in the second-half, clinched the three points for Shrivenham as they completed a league double over rivals Fairford.
But the scoreline itself far from told the story of the game with Fairford starting the match stronger and only denied taking the lead by an inspired Shrivvy keeper Mike Alexander who twice thwarted the visitors from scoring.
The first half lacked quality while the second half was action-packed with Josh Parsons giving Shrivenham the lead just six minutes after the restart.
Tempers then flared soon after that goal when Ben Snook fired the ball at a grounded Ryan Stanners from close range – an action that saw him sent off.
Substitute and assistant boss Jamie Reid was also red carded after players and coaching staff clashed after the incident.
Matty Horsell then struck the underside of the Fairford bar before Tom Ballard fired home from 20 yards.
Fairford’s woes continued when goalkeeper Harrison Ellis was forced off with a shoulder injury he had picked up in the first half.
Despite only having 10 men, Fairford did create a couple of late chances but the Shrivenham defence held firm and wrapped up the points on 93 minutes when Parsons broke free on the left wing before slotting home from close range.
