Swindon Town’s second string started the match strongly but failed to find that telling finish to grab an opening goal.
Ultimately it proved crucial as Forest Green struck first, scoring from long range midway through the first half.
And the visitors doubled their lead just before the break when they hit a superb volley which gave Town keeper Carla Heaton no chance.
Swindon huffed and puffed in the second half and came closest to scoring when they struck the Forest Green post.
However, that little bit of luck in front of goal eluded Swindon as their fine efforts went unrewarded as they went down 2-0.
The result saw Forest Green reduce the gap on Swindon Town to five points in the SWWFL Eastern Division.
