Swindon Supermarine duo Stuart Fleetwood and Henry Spalding declared themselves pleased with a point against in-form Poole Town on Saturday.
Despite conceding an equaliser with just five minutes remaining both Fleetwood and Spalding felt it had been a game of two halves and a “good point” for Marine.
“It’s probably a fair result in the end,” said Fleetwood. “We probably had the better of the first half but second half they had a lot of possession.
“It was important we got something out of today’s game and we did.”
Conor McDonagh gave Marine a 17th minute lead but the home side failed to add to their tally in the first half.
Poole grew into the match in the second half and got their reward when Jake Scrimshaw scored with just five minutes remaining.
Spalding echoed Fleetwood’s thoughts, declaring it a good point against an in-form side.
“We knew the form they have been in,” said Spalding. “We knew we had to be at the top of our game to get anything from the game.
“I think it was a fair result in the end.”
