Watch extended highlights of the Hellenic League Premier Division clash between Shrivenham and Windsor.
Wasted chances cost Shrivenham dear as they slipped to another defeat in the Hellenic Premier Division as in-form Windsor hit three goals in 18 minutes to grab all three points at Barrington Park.
Shrivenham had held Windsor, who knocked fellow Wiltshire side Highworth out of the FA Cup recently, until deep into the second half.
And Gareth Davies’ men had plenty of chances to take the league in this competitive encounter.
Jamie Prictor’s glaring miss on 50 minutes saw him skew his shot wide when he looked certain to score while Lewis Waldon fired wide after bursting through on goal.
Windsor twice hit the post before they eventually took the lead on 69 minutes, Jeevan Panesar firing an unstoppable volley into the Shrivenham net.
Mal Thomas then made it 2-0 on 77 minutes before Dan Roberts completed the win for the visitors on 87 minutes.
Ryan Stanners did pull a goal back for Shrivvy, scoring a fine effort from the edge of the box.
The result leaves Shrivvy lying third bottom of the table, level on points with Fairford Town, who also have just one point on the board.
Shrivenham are without a game at the weekend but return to action when they travel to Royal Wootton Bassett Town, a match which is sure to be a lively affair and where Davies’ troops will be targeting their first win of the season.
