Watch these saves from last night Hellenic Premier Division clash between Shrivenhm and Brackley Town Saints.
Shrivenham made a bright start to this Hellenic Premier Division encounter when Matty Horsell’s cross-cum-shot clipped the top of the Brackley crossbar early on.
Charlie Kille then flashed a shot across the Shrivenham goal before Alex Stott fired just wide when well placed.
Jamie Prictor fired tamely wide after cleverly creating space for a shot before new Shrivvy signing Sean McKeon hit a half-volley straight into Alistair Nobby’s arms.
A right wing cross by Prictor caught the Brackley defence cold but neither McKeon or Horsell were on hand to score what would have been a simple tap in.
Mike Alexander had to be on his toes to keep out a Ryan Knight shot from the edge of the box before the visitors hit the opener on 32 minutes.
The breakthrough came after a fine flowing which was started by Brackley’s centre back Olly Goddard and finished clinically by Charlie Kille.
Shrivenham came agonisingly close to an equaliser right before the break but Horsell’s shot on the turn was deflected wide from close range.
A fantastic passing move from the hosts involving Josh Morse, Dan Drewitt and Lewis Petrie set up McKeon for a golden chance to level proceedings but the striker could only tamely side-foot his shot into Nobby’s hands.
Stott hit the post for Brackley before the visitors doubled their lead as their pin-point and fast passing game set up Kille for a simple tap in at the far post.
Shrivenham pushed for a way back into the game with Mani Roper coming agonisingly close to pulling a goal back when his fierce shot was parried away to safety.
The home side had a flurry of late half chances to score but just couldn’t find the target as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat which leaves them bottom of the Premier Division table after Abingdon won 3-1 at fellow strugglers Tuffley.
