Francis Amartey’s 94th-minute winner saw hosts Highworth sink to a dramatic 3-2 defeat at The Elms.

Highworth had fought back from 2-0 down to level matters against Flackwell Heath, who had Charlie Malin sent off for a second bookable offence, before the visitors snatched the points at the death.

Second-half substitutes Ashley Edenborough and Lewis Waldon hauled Highworth level to give the Hellenic League Premier Division leaders the platform to go on and grab victory.

But despite pushing hard for a winner, Highworth were caught cold by 10-man Flackwell Heath as Amartey raced past Tom Cole to slot home the winner.

Highworth remain top of the table despite the defeat but second-placed Thatcham Town closed the gap to just two points thanks to a 2-0 win at Brackley Town Saints.

Thatcham also have the luxury of a game in hand while the two sides come head to head on March 28th in what could be a crucial title decider at The Elms.
