Experienced striker Sean McKeon is delighted to have agreed to return to Shrivenham and believes the club is “on the way up”.
McKeon rejoins Shrivenham following a stint with Southern League Wantage Town where he was assistant manager.
Despite enjoying his time at Wantage, McKeon revealed the desire to bring his boots out of retirement and return to the pitch with a move to Shrivenham described as a “no brainer”.
“It’s great to be back, it is a club that I know well,” said McKeon. “There’s a great chairman in charge here and I know the manager well so it was a bit of a no-brainer.
“It has been a challenge (at Wantage) but there is nothing better than putting the boots back on.
“Lockdown has been difficult for people but for me it has been beneficial. I’ve been running six days a week and want to get as fit as I can and see what I can do again.
” I can’t wait. Shrivenham is a club on the way up. Chris is a manager who will get the best out of people.
“I feel confident otherwise I wouldn’t be here. There are a few who will come who I know will strengthen the squad. We’ll be competitive and I think we will do well.”
