Watch the incident that led to Fairford Town’s Jamie Reid see red against local rivals Shrivenham in the Hellenic Premier Division.

Reid was sent off on 37 minutes after clashing with Shrivenham’s Danny Hale, who was booked for his part in the incident.

Tempers flared after Lewis Petrie fell on the ball after being fouled by John Watson prompting a host of players from both sides to clash.

Reid reacted angrily to Hale’s push on Ben Saunders, directing a headbutt at the Shrivenham player.

After a length consultation with his assistants, the referee booked Hale and then red carded Reid.

Fairford were already 1-0 down at the time of the sending off after Hale fired home a 30th-minute penalty.

And Shrivenham clinched victory on 88 minutes when Dan Drewett scrambled the ball home from a Sam Ockwell free-kick.

The win lifts Shrivvy up to 16th in the table, three points adrift from Fairford who are 14th.

Both sides face home clashes at the weekend with Shrivenham taking on Bishops Cleeve and Fairford hosting Tuffley Rovers.
