Fourth-placed Wroughton scored early on courtesy of an Ollie While effort which deflected over the goalkeeper’s head.
The visitors extended their lead through Tyler Wilkinson as they took a 2-0 lead at the break.
Wroughton had a goal disallowed before scoring a third through Aaron Maximen and although Purton pulled a goal back it proved too little too late.
The win keeps Wroughton in fourth place in the table but they have five games in hand on leaders Melksham who are just seven points away.
