Swindon Supermarine defender Matt Liddiard believes the club can “finish what they’ve started” and earn promotion when the new season finally restarts.
Liddiard said he had no hesitation in re-signing for Swindon Supermarine and admitted he felt there is unfinished business at the club after the Covid-19 pandemic forced a premature end to promotion campaign last season.
With the new season expected to restart at some point in September, Marine are back in pre-season training and Liddiard says the club should set their sights on another promotion push.
“Overall it is looking really good and the lads are looking sharp,” said Liddiard. “I can’t wait for the season to start and getting into pre-season friendlies.
“It was a shame that it (the season) ended where it did. We had 10 games left and a good run-in.
“We’ve set the bar now and that (promotion) is what we have got to aim for next year, if not higher and there is no reason why we cannot do that.
“I had no hesitation to sign again for Swindon Supermarine. I want to finish what we had started and get the club promoted.”
