New Swindon Supermarine signing Pierce Mitchell has arrived to bolster the club’s defensive ranks but he admitted that he does have a knack of scoring goals too.
Mitchell’s arrival at the Webb’s Wood came after an initial conversation with Jamie Edge, a player he has known since his teens, and the former Taunton and Tiverton player admitted the move was a “no brainer”.
Your Sport’s Nick Taylor caught up with Mitchell at training on Saturday and he said: “I’ve played here a few times and the majority of times I’ve done alright.
“I’ve known Jamie Edge since I was about 18. He reached out and said they were looking for a defender, then the gaffer spoke to me and it was done in three or four days really.
“When I was at Taunton and we went up I scored about 11 or 12 so hopefully this season I’ll get my shooting boots on.”
