Swindon Supermarine player-coach Matt Coupe believes a host of players have put themselves in contention for a start after the 4-1 win against Larkhall Athletic in the Southern League Cup.
Coupe praised Supermarine’s performance as goals from Kane Simpson, Henry Spalding, Brad Gray and Conor McDonagh secured victory at the Webb’s Wood Stadium.
“Some of the boys put in a really good show tonight,” said Coupe. “A couple of the lads haven’t had too many minutes.
“It was a good show, passing was slick and we scored some really good goals tonight. Some of the boys have put themselves in front of the gaffer to say ‘come on let’s have a game now.’
“No game is a given. Our intensity in the first half was very good. All in all, it was a very positive night.”
Marine are back in action at the weekend when they travel to Taunton Town on Saturday.
