Cirencester Town Youth stars Fabian Stanislas and Rowan Doyle felt their clinical finishing was crucial to their North Wilts Youth League Under 16 Cup Final success.
The pair admitted that they were relieved that a late chance for Lydiard Youth hit the crossbar rather than their net but ultimately felt their side took their chances and defended well.
Cirencester Town Youth clinched the North Wilts Youth League Under 16 Cup after a hard-fought victory over Lydiard Millicent Juniors.
Having missed out on the Division One league title by just four points to Lydiard, Cirencester made a fast start to this cup final when Jamie White scored after just five minutes.
Cirencester held their lead at the break and after a tight start to the second half, Tom Ponting increased their lead with a fine header.
League champions Lydiard though were not finished yet and pulled a goal back courtesy of the influential Harvey Flippance.
Lydiard continued to push for an equaliser and almost forced extra time when they hit the cross bar with just 30 seconds remaining.
Cirencester though held on and lifted the League Cup.
