Shrivenham manager Chris Hurley is confident his side will turn around their form in the Hellenic Premier Division.
Returning to action for the first time since the second lockdown in a pre-season friendly against Highworth, Shrivenham claimed a 1-0 victory, a result that Hurley believes will give his side confidence ahead of the league’s restart at the weekend.
“The result wasn’t really important,” said Hurley. “The group haven’t really been together for four or five weeks.
“It was good to get the boys together today. For the first time I think we have a settled group.
“We treated it like a normal game although it was about getting the boys minutes.
“I think moving forward I expect us to get results. In general I think we’ve been in the games, it’s just being clinical and a bit of confidence.”
Following Wednesday’s friendly against Calne, Shrivenham travel to Brimscombe in the Hellenic Premier Division on Saturday.
