Watch the moment Brimscombe & Thrupp’s Harrison Reeves celebrated hitting the winning goal for his side in a 5-3 win at Shrivenham on Tuesday night.

Reeves’ side had bounced back from 3-0 down in the first half to win 5-3 and upon scoring the fifth goal, he couldn’t resist celebrating with a somersalt.

Shrivenham threw away a 3-0 lead as visitors Brimscombe & Thrupp hit five goals in 43 minutes to grab an amazing 5-3 victory.

Having produced a performance that boss Gareth Davies dubbed as “not good enough” on Saturday against Abingdon, Shrivenham came out of the blocks flying as they took a 3-0 lead after just 35 minutes.

Lewis Petrie grabbed the first as he finished coolly on six minutes after escaping the Brimscombe offside trap.

Danny Hale then finished off a move he started as he went in bravely on the goalkeeper to double Shrivvy’s lead on 15 minutes.

Mani Roper then hit his own bar as Brimscombe went close before Dan Drewett raced in on goal to score the third on 35 minutes.

Petrie was then denied by Brimscombe keeper Ashley Gale before Hale went agonisingly close to adding a fourth when he struck the post from close range.

Ben Deakin then gave Brimscombe a glimmer of hope before the break as he volleyed home clinically on 43 minutes.

Hale then had an effort cleared off the line on 58 minutes just two minutes before the visitors pulled another goal back – Ollie Pitt latching onto a deflected shot to score past Dan Lawrence.

Eight minutes later Brimscombe were level as Pitt’s turn of pace left the Shrivenham defence for dead as he slotted home the equaliser.

A moment of madness from Scott Chilcott saw Shrivenham reduced to 10 men after he was sent off for a high and rash tackle.

And six minutes later Brimscombe took full advantage of the extra man as they bundled home a corner with Kyle Pitts on hand to get the final touch.

Brimscombe’s fantastic comeback was completed on 86 minutes when Harrison Reeves raced through on Lawrence’s goal to score the winner.

Shrivenham return to action on Saturday when they host Badshot Lea in the FA Vase.
