Highworth Town’s Sean Wood would be happy to win ugly against Swindon Supermarine in the FA Trophy on Saturday.
The Worthians start the match as underdogs on paper with visiting Supermarine doing well in the division above, Southern Premier South.
But Highworth too have had a good start to the season, sitting seventh in the division with four wins already on the board.
Wood says his side will happily take a scrappy 1-0 win on Saturday: “We’re looking forward to it and seeing how we can do.
“We are unbeaten at home and we’ll see if we can keep that run going.
“We have to keep it tight to start with. They’ve got players in their forward line, two of which are probably our budget.
“Really try and stay tight at the back. Stay in the game, try and take it towards the later stages of the game, nick a goal and just hold out like we have done in a lot of our home games recently.
“It hasn’t been pretty at time this season but we’ve managed to dig in together and get over the line and get the result.
“There’s no pressure on us and we are looking forward to playing a team from the league above.”
Highworth will be without goalkeeper Connor Johns for the tie with Luke Kuczynski taking over between the sticks.
Both Rob Dean (Highworth) and Matt Liddiard (Supermarine) are suspended for the clash.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased at Highworth Town Football Club from 7pm-9.3opm on tonight.
