Elliot Pinson stretched his advantage at the top of the Team Green Junior Cup after securing three wins and a second in class at Silverstone.
The 14-year-old not only stretched his advantage at the top of the Junior standings to 53 points but now also leads the Overall Championship.
Swindon’s Pinson started race one on Saturday from pole position having qualified two seconds ahead of Jamie Kelman.
However, it was Kelman who grabbed the lead early in race one as he raced into a 1.4 second lead over Pinson after lap one.
Pinson though retook the lead on lap three and from then on he was unstoppable as he took victory nearly six seconds ahead of the field from Kelman and Michael Stone in second and third.
Saturday’s second race was a familiar story with Kelman again nicking the lead before regaining the lead and surging to a comfortable victory again ahead of Kelman and Stone.
But Sunday’s weather took a turn for the worse and with Pinson sporting a dry rear tyre in a wet-tyre situation, it was Stone who took victory from Kelman with Reece Guyett in third.
Pinson came home first in class but was back in fifth overall.
In the final race of the weekend Owen Jenner was the man to beat as he dominated in the wet to take victory by a whopping 14.557 seconds from Pinson in second and Damian Rowley in third.
Pinson though was delighted with the weekend, saying: “It was dry on Saturday so I could push and managed to take pole, two race wins and set a new lap record 0.3s faster than the old one,” he said.
“Sunday conditions weren’t good, so I wasn’t going to push and risk losing championship points. I also had a dry rear tyre for race one when full wets were needed.
“In race two, my visor misted up so I couldn’t see properly, but I still got a win and a second. Thanks to all at Bemsee and the other riders for the racing, and my sponsors.”
Pinson returns to action on April 28-29th at Cadwell Park.
