Swindon Supermarine interim boss Lee Spalding admitted he was disappointed to only come away with a point from Saturday’s home clash with Winchester City.

Spalding’s side held a 1-0 lead until eight minutes from time when Rob Carr found space inside the Marine box to equalise.

Matters could have been very different had Callum Parsons’ earlier shot found the net rather than the inside of the Winchester post.

Although Spalding felt his side deserved all three points, he remained upbeat about extending their unbeaten run ahead of Tuesday’s crucial clash against fellow promotion chasers Salisbury.

“It’s disappointing not to get the three points,” Spalding told Your Sport’s Nick Taylor. “We had a great chance to make it 2-0 but being positive it is a good point and keeps the unbeaten run going ahead of Tuesday.”
