Swindon Supermarine boss Lee Spalding hopes to strengthen his squad further next week with the addition of another defender.
Speaking after the 4-2 friendly win against Hashtag United at the Webb’s Wood Stadium, the Supermarine boss confirmed that the club are close to agreeing terms with defender.
Spalding was also pleased with his side’s performance in what was their first friendly of what appears to be a tough set of pre-season fixtures.
“I’m pleased, I thought it was a good run out for the boys,” said Spalding. “We played some good stuff in the first half after they scored.
“I was disappointed with the first goal we conceded but I thought we responded well after that. We played some good football first half, second half we did okay but I just don’t think we were quick enough on the ball, our decision making was too slow, and I think the heat maybe had an effect on the players, we looked a bit jaded.”
On target for Supermarine in the 4-2 win against Hashtag was Josh Parsons, Ryan Campbell, Connor Thompson and Brad Gray.
Supermarine’s next pre-season friendly is next Saturday when they take on Wealdstone at the Webb’s Wood Stadium.
