Lawn D snatched a last-gasp draw against Nationwide D in Division Five of the Swindon & District Netball League last weekend.
Nationwide D almost pulled off a dramatic victory against Lawn D in Division Five before being pegged back by their rivals.
Having lost by 15 goals last time out, Nationwide were determined to bounce back and they did just that, leading by two at the end of the first quarter.
Nationwide held their lead at half-time before increasing their advantage to three going into the final quarter.
Lawn though dug deep in the final quarter as they pulled closer to Nationwide with just minutes remaining.
And with just seconds on the clock, a crucial interception by Megan Lawrence gave Lawn the turnover they needed to score and snatch a 33-33 draw.
Kalli Kaur was player of the match for Nationwide while captain Ros Strachan led her side superbly.
Thea Rhodes was player of the match for Lawn D.
Division Five leaders Royal Wootton Bassett C beat Pinehurst D 48-33 as they took one step closer to the title.
Charlotte Robbins was player of the match for Bassett, who despite a slow start led from the outset thanks to some good attacking play and shooting.
In Division One, Lawn A pushed Raychem A all the way before being edged out by the leaders 53-49.
Lawn turned in a great display of netball and battled hard with a strong defence as they kept the league leaders within touching distance throughout.
Goal shoot Holly Atkins was player of the match for Lawn.
A depleted Lawn B squad stormed to a 42-13 victory against Burmah B in Division Two to keep the heat on leaders Nationwide B.
The defensive trio of Ami Miller, Laura Bath and Ava Kirby turned in fantastic individual performances in what was a mature display of netball from Lawn’s young team.
Lawn’s decisive passing and drive in mid court enabled the shooters to convert the goals.
Wing attack Lauren Twine was player of the match for Lawn B.
Lawn are just three points behind leaders Nationwide B, who beat Raychem C.
Royal Wootton Bassett A kept the pressure on Division Three leaders RTM with a 36-24 win against Nationwide C.
Mollie Smith was named player of the match for Bassett who played particularly well in the final quarter completing some good defensive moves to turn over possession frequently.
Leaders RTM meanwhile beat Moredon B 54-27.
A diminished Lawn C faced Delta A this week and fought hard before going down 31-27.
Lawn made a strong defensive start as they took the lead at half-time.
Delta though bounced back and eventually clinched victory by four points.
Goal attack Kara Morcomb was player of the match for Lawn C.
In Division Four, Royal Wootton Bassett B took on top-of-the-league Faringdon.
Bassett started well, taking the lead at the end of the first quarter after converting their turnover chances.
But Faringdon bounced back strongly and eventually wrapped up a 37-29 win.
Lilli Beard was named player of the match for Bassett.
