Lawn A secured their first win of the season as they beat Pinehurst A in the Swindon & District Netball League Division One.

Gracie Jones was named Lawn’s player of the match with the win taking them up to second in the table behind Raychem A, who beat Burmah A 36-28.

In Division Two, Lawn B took an early lead against Purton A and never looked back en route to a 46-14 success.

Lawn’s defence linked well with their mid-court as they were able to provide superb service for their shooters.

Lucy Drury was Lawn’s player of the match as the win kept them at the top of the table with Nationwide B and Croft B.

Nationwide B made it two wins from two with victory over Raychem D while Croft B beat Corsham.

Despite claiming an early lead, Fairford A eventually went down 50-46 against Burmah A.

Consistent shooting from Fairford gave them the edge in the first half before Burmah bounced back in the second half.

Kate Roberts was named Fairford’s player of the match.

Nationwide C took on the league’s newcomers RTM in Division Three and found themselves behind 14-9 after the first quarter.

Both Louise Giles and player of the match Tiffany Wigmore had excellent games as they fought back before eventually going down 58-40.

RTM are now joint leaders of the division alongside Royal Wootton Bassett A who beat Moredon B.

Liz Kelly was the star player for Bassett as they beat Moredon 55-27.

Bassett managed to play well defensively and make plenty of turnovers as they kept possession superbly en route to their fine win.

Lawn C earned their first win of the season with a 46-31 success over Pinehurst C.

Phoebe Thompson was the star of the show for Lawn, who showed some steady defence throughout and forced numerous turnovers.

Lilli Beard was named player of the match for Royal Wootton Bassett B as they beat Delta Reds 45-10 in Division Four.

Impressing for Delta Reds was wing attack Laura McMahon, who switched to centre during the game.

Bassett moved up to third place courtesy of the win behind leaders Faringdon and second-placed Moonraker.

In Division Five, Royal Wootton Bassett C and Calne fought out a close affair with the latter edging victory.

Calne took an early lead before Bassett stormed back after some good defensive play.

But it was Calne who claimed victory, 29-25, while Rhiannon Arthur was named player of the match for Bassett.

Lawn D are still searching for their first win of the season after going down 63-26 against Moredon C.

Goal attack Kara Morcumb was the star performer for Lawn against a Moredon side who boasted a very experienced shooting duo.

Purton B, Pinehurst D and Calne all lead the way at the top of the table in Division Five with 100 per cent records.

In the regional league, Lawn faced a strong Raychem side who had been relegated from last season.

And it was the former Regional League Division Two side who ran out victorious as they claimed a 62-33 win.

Lawn trialled many different combinations from attack all the way through to defence with many players making their debut.

Unfortunately, Lawn however, could not keep up with the standard of the Raychem team.

Florrie Green was named Lawn’s player of the match.
