Royal Wootton Bassett B came agonisingly close to beating second-placed Moonraker in their top-of-the-table clash in Division Four of the Swindon & District Netball League.
The match was fiercely contested from the start with Moonraker edging ahead after the second quarter.
Bassett though worked hard to convert defensive turnovers into goals and took the lead after the third quarter.
A tough final quarter saw both sides fight for the win, with Moonraker nicking it by a single point thanks to a 31-30 success.
Player of the match for Bassett was Jess Chandler.
At the top of the table, leaders Faringdon beat Delta B and lead Moonraker by six points.
Elsewhere in Division Four, Moredon C beat Raychem E 44-33 in what proved to be a hard-fought match throughout.
Goal defence Tiya once again got player of the match for Moredon, playing really well against Raychem’s goal attack, Mia Hibberd.
In Division Five, Purton B edged victory against Lawn D 41-39 in another fiercely-contested match.
A fantastic performance from Lawn saw their players give 100 per cent as they produced some superb attacking play and shooting.
Trinity Lango and Lily Deighton were both in fantastic form but despite their efforts, Lawn fell short by just two points.
Centre Gemma Giles was player of the match for Lawn D.
Division Five leaders Royal Wootton Bassett C claimed another win as they stormed to victory against Croft D, 50-21.
Bassett took an early lead and utilised several different player combinations throughout the match to win every quarter.
Kirst Crawford was named player of the match for Bassett.
Second-placed Calne also won as they beat Nationwide D 48-38 and now trail Bassett by three points having played a game more.
Lawn A grabbed victory against Moredon A in Division One with Amy Yea crowned player of the match.
Neither side could be separated after the first quarter with the scores locked at 6-6.
Lawn though found their rhythm in the second quarter and pulled into a 15-10 lead.
Moredon battled hard until the end, but it was Lawn who took the win.
Raychem A remain top of Division One after a 47-36 win against Croft A.
In Division Two, Lawn B stormed to a 68-31 win against Pinehurst B as they kept the pressure on leaders Nationwide B.
Lawn dominated through the whole court with new shooting combination proving deadly.
Lyn Palmer was named player of the match for Lawn who are now just three points behind Nationwide.
Royal Wootton Bassett A kept the pressure on Division Three leaders RTM with a 56-11 win against Fairford B.
Bassett led from the outset thanks to their fine combinations in attack.
Fairford kept the pressure on Bassett’s defence before the second-placed side ran away with victory.
Grace Philpot was named player of the match for Bassett.
RTM meanwhile won 55-30 against Jets A.
Moredon B beat Croft C 37-33 with a good mix of young players playing well alongside the more experienced members of the team.
Page, playing at centre, won player of the match for Moredon B.
Lawn C went down 37-23 against Nationwide C after they were unable to capitalise on their turnovers.
Trailing by seven going into the second half, Lawn tried out new combinations and produced some excellent attacking play but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to win the match.
Phoebe Thompson was named player of the match for Lawn.
Lawn’s Regional League Three side produced a brilliant display against Devizes but were eventually edged out 51-40.
Some great work in attack and brilliant defending saw Lawn stay close throughout the match with Florrie Green named player of the match.
