Continuing our Flashback series, we are taking a trip back to May 2018 when Swindon Supermarine clinched promotion to Southern Premier South at Wimborne Town courtesy of a dramatic penalty shootout.
After an extremely tight 85 minutes in this Southern League West play-off final, Supermarine were reduced to 10 men when Zak Westlake was sent off for bringing down Wimborne striker Tobias Holmes.
Initially the referee appeared to give a penalty before he was corrected by his linesman and gave a free-kick on the edge of the box.
Despite being reduced to 10 players, Supermarine made it through to extra-time and then survived the extra 30 minutes to force penalties.
And, having already triumphed on penalties during the week in the semi-final against Evesham, Supermarine were faultless again as they scored all four of their penalties while goalkeeper Josh Hill pulled off two tremendous saves to win the shootout 4-3.
Bradley Gray, Brad Hooper, Aaron Woodley and Connor Thompson all kept their nerve to score for Supermarine in the shootout.
