As the COVID-19 crisis continues to stop all forms of Football for the foreseeable future a game that was meant to go ahead this weekend (May 3rd) was RAF FA Veterans v Royal Wootton Bassett FC Veterans, to highlight this we take a look back at all the goals in the 3-3 match up.
The RAF Vets took the lead early on only for Bassett’s Jeremy Newton to level with a cool chip over the keeper.
Shortly after half-time the visitors were handed a soft penalty which despite being initially saved saw the rebound scrambled into the back of the Bassett net.
Martin Ohrland then levelled courtesy of a superb long range strike before Martin Cooper gave Bassett the lead, again from distance.
The spoils were shared though when the RAF scored late on in what proved to be a fiercely-contested match.
Proceeds from the day, which also saw a Stratton Juniors Vets team and Wales FA Vets side take on Bassett’s Veterans, went to The Royal Air Forces Association.
