Calvin Dinsley and Harry Williams felt Swindon Supermarine’s win against second-placed Met Police was proof that the club will be a force in Southern Premier South next season.
The win meant Marine are just six points adrift of the final play-off place with three games remaining and both players were delighted with the victory.
Goalscorer Williams said: “The are not second in the league for no reason. First half was a bit of a battle but once we got the goal we calmed down a bit and it was good to get the win.”
Dinsley added: “We knew it was going to be a tough game, we knew it was going to be just one goal that would decide it.
“We have beaten two good teams (in the last two games) and it is another sign of the squad that we are creating going into next season.
“We are proving to people that we are going to be a real force next season.”
