Broome Manor trio impress at St Andrews

Broome Manor’s Wee Wonders Finalists Cillian Roberts, Lewy Hayward and Olivia Bannon did themselves proud when they played in the grand final at St Andrews.

All three played some fantastic golf at “The Home of Golf” which saw the best young golfers in the country take on the famous St Andrews course.

Eight-year-old Cillian Roberts, fresh from his second place finish at the Venice Junior Open, come home in 10th place in the 7-8 year boys’ category.

Roberts carded a superb opening round 31 before adding rounds of 36 and 35 as he finished 12 over par for the tournament.

Sean Cooper was the eventual winner of the competition, finishing on just three over par.

Olivia Bannon took part in the Girls’ Division and finished in 13th place with a total gross scored from her two 18-hole rounds of 185.

An opening round 93 followed by a final round 92 was a worthy effort from Bannon, who was playing at St Andrews for the first time.

Winner of the Girls’ Division was Caitlin Whitehead who was just two over par for her two rounds.

Lewy Hayward competed in the 9-10 year boys’ category and managed a superb 15th place.

Rounds of 92 and 83 gave Hayward a total gross score of 175 in his first Wee Wonders Final at St Andrews.

Winner of the 9-10 year boys’ event was Joshua Berry who managed a superb gross total of 154, just 16 over par.
