Swindon Premier Golf Academy’s Mark Sandry provides our next highlight of 2018 after he clinched the prestigious Hills Wiltshire Professionals Golf Championship.
Sandry added his name to the trophy for a second time after finishing four shots ahead of the rest on what was one of the hottest days of the year.
Sandry’s first round saw him card a two-under par 70, which left him just one shot of the leader Louis Boston of Chippenham Golf Club.
Another Chippenham golfer, Matt Law, was level with Sandry after the first 18 holes but the Swindon Premier Golf Academy professional bettered his score in the afternoon as he came home in three under par.
His afternoon score of 69 gave Sandry a total score of five under par, good enough to beat Boston by four clear shots.
Sandry’s only other success in the competition came back in 2005 when he was joint winner with Andy Beal.
