Shrivenham have boosted their squad further with the signing of former Fairford Town captain Sam Ockwell.
Ockwell, who was Gareth Davies’ first signing as manager of Fairford back in June 2016, links up with his former boss after making seven appearances for Southern League West Division side Shortwood United.
The central defender began the season at Cinder Lane and has also spent a spell at Toolstation Western League Division One club Malmesbury Victoria.
But Ockwell has now opted to team up with Davies once again, with the Shrivenham boss delighted to have him on board.
“Sam is another fantastic addition to our squad,” he said. “He was my captain at our previous club and he is a great footballer.
“He’s a real leader with a huge amount of experience and not only will he do well in our team, but he will also help to develop our younger players.
“We’re really pleased to finally been able to get him on board.”
Ockwell will be available for selection when Shrivenham make the short trip to New College Swindon for a Hellenic League Division One West clash tonight (Monday).
Shrivvy return to action following Saturday’s postponed clash with North Leigh United and will be looking to back up a fine cup victory over Highworth Town last week.
Meanwhile, New College come into the match off the back of a 4-0 home defeat to Easington Sports on Saturday and only have one league win to their name so far this campaign.
