Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Under 16’s contested a nine-goal thriller on Sunday in what was a classic case of a game of two halves.

Hosts Wiltshire raced into a 5-0 lead at The Elms in Highworth with Harvey Flippance hitting a first-half hat-trick.

Tom Green and Barney Duffy added the other goals to give Wiltshire a commanding advantage at the break.

However, kicking down the slope the in the second half proved crucial for visiting Gloucestershire and they quickly pulled two goals back.

The one-way traffic continued as Gloucestershire scored twice more to trail by just a single goal.

Gloucestershire then had a last minute penalty turned down which caused a controversial end to the match with Wiltshire holding on, just!
