Moonrakers produced a comeback to maintain their 100 percent record in Division Four of the Swindon Netball Winter League.

Taking on Delta Reds B, Moonrakers found themselves 12-4 down at the end of the first quarter.

However, positional changes were made and they came through for a comeback victory, 50-37 with Jo Moody receiving Moonrakers’ player of the match.

Also in Division Four, Royal Wootton Bassett B saw off their teammates, the C team, in a well spectated game.

The B team maintained an early lead to win the match 50-35. GD Mollie Smith was awarded player of the match for Bassett B with Jess Tilling player of the match for Bassett C.

Lawn D made a slow start in the first quarter against Raychem E but edged an 8-5 lead. A good defensive display saw Lawn increase their lead by five going into half time.

Great interceptions from Harriet Vizard and Lawn’s defensive unit enabled them to turnover and convert to pull away to a 44-29 win. Player of the match went to Hannah Simpson.

Jets B made it three wins from three with a 65-18 win over Pinehurst D whilst Faringdon edged out Purton B 38-37.

Raychem A continued their winning ways in Division One with a 49-40 victory over Nationwide A .

It was a close first half with Raychem leading 25-22 but they always looked in control of the game.

Some great defensive work from Vikki Craddock, Chelsey Fitzgibbon and Tracy Watt saw plenty of turnovers with Sam Parker and Lucy Jackson sinking the goals to extend Raychem’s lead. Amy Corrie was named player of the match.

Lawn A are also unbeaten in Division One courtesy of a 43-28 win over Croft A.

It was a tight contest for the first three quarters with Lawn going into the final quarter six ahead.

Lawn produced a fine last quarter, making multiple turnovers in defence and converting those in attack with Jodi Sealey the player of the match.

Pinehurst A made it four wins from four after beating their B team 72-26.

Burmah A were 52-31 winners over Abbey Meads A whilst Razzle Dazzle defeated Corsham 50-29.

Delta Reds A and Nationwide B played out a tightly-fought match in Division Two.

With just one goal between the sides at half time, Nationwide pulled away leaving the end score at 41-28. Jess Sutton was awarded player of the match.

Royal Wootton Bassett A were edged out 35-30 against Burmah B despite Caroline Beard’s was player of the match performance for Bassett.

Lawn B took on Lawn C in a nail biting game from start to finish.

Both teams started off strongly, matching each other goal for goal. Lawn B took an early two goal lead going into the second quarter with strong defensive work throughout.

By half time the B team were leading by five goals, but the C team fought back in the third quarter and all was level going into the last.

Lawn B took their opportunity and scored three consecutive goals with excellent calmness from Holly Atkins shooting eventually winning 38-35.

Florrie Green (Lawn B) and Maddie Goode (Lawn C) were the respective players of the match.

Fairford A produced a strong performance to defeat Raychem C 47-33 whilst Raychem B beat Croft B 54-38.

Purton A top the Division Three standings following a 39-14 win over Abbey Meads B.

Raychem D are hot on their heels, also with three wins from three, following their 49-33 win over Nationwide C.

Pinehurst C are unbeaten following their 41-33 win over Fairford B.

Elsehwhere in Division Three, Croft C were comfortable 58-35 winners over Moredon B whilst Jets A beat Coleview 54-16.

In Division Five, Nationwide D defeated Moredon C 56-13 and Raychem F were 33-16 winners against Fairford C.

Meanwhile, Lawn’s RL3 side were beaten 58-38 by an experience Poole outfit.

Despite falling significantly behind in the middle quarters, Lawn came back strongly, rallying to win the final quarter 13-10 with some great defending and key interceptions from Ehlana Drury and both the shooters shooting at a 100% in this final quarter.

Lucy Ruddle was awarded the player of the match.

Lawn over 35s had another successful week, defeating Purton 40-13.

Lawn played a strong fluent match with a great defensive strategy from the off with Kate Dawson claiming player of the match again for her precise interceptions throughout the game.
