Swindon cruiserweight Luke Watkins says 2017 is the year he is going to start winning titles.
Watkins will return to ring on April 8th when he fights on the undercard to Ryan Martin’s WBC World Youth welterweight title fight against Michael McKinson.
An opponent will be announced in due course for Watkins who will take his unblemished record to 10-0 with victory on April 8th.
Watkins told Your Sport Swindon that the Irish title is still very much part of his plans before he sets his sights on the British and Commonwealth straps.
“Anyone in the cruiserweight division who is winning and drawing success, I am going to come and fight them all,” said Watkins.
“I don’t see why not. I believe I am doing the same in Swindon.
“The record kind of speaks for itself now. I’m getting attention from other fighters now, people are now using my name when talking so I guess now these fights are now going to start to happen.
“What will be will be, we’ll make the fights and make them happen. The first one (title) is fast approaching. British and Commonwealth we’ll find out where we are, whose got what at what time and then we’ll just finalise the deals for those and fight for those and win those.”
